Gaza, Hamas's attempt with Trump. Letter with a new proposal: "Half hostages for a 60-day humanitarian truce."

Restart of talks?

Despite the increasingly explicit position of the Israeli government, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his extremist ministers Smotrich and Ben-Gvir who never miss an opportunity to publicly declare Tel Aviv's intention to annex the Gaza Strip and the West Bank , and thus prevent the birth of a Palestinian state, signals of a possible truce are once again arriving from Gaza.
The latest overture comes from Hamas , the radical Islamic group that controls the Strip and which on October 7th launched the attack in Israel that triggered the offensive that has been ongoing for nearly two years. According to Trey Yingst, Tel Aviv correspondent for Fox News, a network notoriously close to the White House, the terrorist organization has written a letter to US President Donald Trump asking him to personally guarantee a 60-day humanitarian pause in Gaza in exchange for the immediate release of half the hostages held by Hamas, approximately twenty people.
The news, according to the journalist himself, was learned from a senior Trump administration official and from a second source directly involved in the talks between Washington and the Palestinian militia.

The letter, Fox News specifies, is expected to be delivered to Trump this week. The aim is to push the White House to restart peace talks , which were abruptly interrupted by the IDF attacks in Doha , Qatar, targeting negotiators and Hamas leaders visiting the country.
Another instrument of pressure, and this is nothing new, is the publication of yet another video showing a kidnapped man, Alon Ohel . This is the second recording of Ohel, after Hamas released a video earlier this month showing him with another hostage, Guy Gilboa-Dalal.
